Good morning, in today's tutorial we are going to see how to add to your website made with WordPress the Google Adwords conversions code in a simple way and without having to install any additional plugin, thanks to Google Tag Manager. Remember that if you want to install this Google Tag Manager, you can see how to add it in a previous tutorial.
Add the Google Adwords conversion code
In this case we will implement the conversions tracking of a form on our Website, ie we will measure from Google Adwords when a visitor who arrives from an ad on this advertising platform complete a form.
For the example, I have chosen to build the Contact Form 7, one of the most popular plugins that exist in the WordPress repository. And I have done it for one reason, to show you the flexibility of Google Tag Manager to be able to insert in our website not only codes or marketing tracking scripts, but other scripts that allow us to vary the behaviour of the Web, I explain.
By default, when we add a form of Contact form 7 to our Web, when completing and sending the data from it, we get a message on the same page that tells us the success of sending. But in order to implement conversion tracking from Google Tag Manager We will need to redirect the form page to a thank you page. To do this, in case of Contact Form 7 We must use the following script.
By default, this script is usually inserted in the HTML Code of the page in which we have our form, but there is the option to "plug it" from Google Tag Manager.
In the following video, you will see how to do it, as well as how to add the Google Adwords conversion code in a simple way, thanks to the predefined tag provided by Tag Manager
Conclusion
As you can see, implementing this tracking is very simple, just have defined the conversion that we want to measure in Google Adwords and define a simple tag that will be launched when the user arrives to the thank you page after completing and Submit the form
As always, if you have any questions, you can send them to me through the contact form.
